What are the S³ Multisport training methodologies?
We specifically use heart rate and power to guide and describe our own personal training and racing. So that is exactly what we are going to use with our athletes. We create 5 heart rate, power and pace sectors based on your past performances or integrated testing. Swim training is mostly perceived effort based but we will work in swim pace as we start the build towards an event or race. Run pace is also used as a training guide but not at the expense of what heart rate data is exhibiting. We feel that heart rate and power are the most consistent physiological markers of endurance training and racing. Let us be clear, you are not required to have a powermeter on your bike, although it is highly encouraged. We will stipulate that a heart rate monitor, preferably strap based, is of paramount importance.

What is S³ Multisport's "flexidization"?
Flexidization is a S³ Multisport term used to describe our approach to training. You have probably heard of "periodization" as a proven principle in endurance sport training. Periodization is the process of breaking up training into different periods that alter intensity and volume to promote supercompensation. Periodization is based on robust scientific evidence but can be viewed as rigid and does not promote a training process that fits into the life of a Multisport athlete. In many ways, multisport training becomes life ... and that upsets balance of the non-professional athlete. Enter S³ Multisport's "flexidization", a flexible way of using periodization principles to promote maximum performance while remaining very agile to the life and stressors of our athletes. We are committed to supporting sport-life balance in our athletes lives and flexidization is our tool to promote that balance.
Do I have to be training for a 140.6 to benefit from S³ coaching?
Absolutely not. We were novices at one time and it is that desire to shorten some of the learning curve for our athletes that has led us on this endeavor. Multisport can be a lifestyle as long as it is part of a healthy balance and that is what where we are going to place our emphasis. Short-course to long-course, we have you covered.
Is S³ Multisport providing full-service coaching? Training plans?
Yes, we are offering comprehensive multisport coaching from training plan development and individual workout sessions through the race execution. Our aim is to propel our athletes to their raceday fit, fresh and most importantly, healthy.
